    What you can do

There are lots of practical ways to help but the most important thing is to make sure that the Purbeck Review know exactly how you feel.

1 Get a copy of the proposal. You can get a copy from any of the schools or libraries in the area and you can look at it online here. The bit about Swanage First School is on page 16.

2 Fill in and send back the questionnaire at the back of the proposal

    Send it to:

Director for Children & Young People (Ref:RP/CC),
    Dorset County Council,
    County Hall, Colliton Park,
    Dorchester DT1 1XJ

Or complete the on-line questionnaire here
Please do write a letter as well if you can

3 Write a separate letter and send it to the above address

    4 E-mail your comments to purbeckreview@dorsetcc.gov.uk

5 Put a poster in the window of your home and business to show your support. You can download and print an online version here

6 Attend the parents meeting at Swanage First School, Mount Scar on Tuesday 27 January at 6.30 pm

7 Attend the public meeting at the Swanage Bay View (Vista Bar) on Wednesday 28 January at 7.30 pm

8 You can also send a letter to Dorset County councillors who will vote on whether to accept the final proposal. Remember, there are county elections on 4 June 2009, though this is a non-party political issue. Councillors are likely to support us once they see our arguments. You can find County Councillor addresses here

9 Let local Swanage and Purbeck councillors know how you feel and ask them to lend support to our campaign. Town councillor details are here and Purbeck District Council details are here - remember, most councillors are likely to support us once they read our arguments.

10 Sign up for email updates from this website using the form on the left of the page

11 Contact us to see how you can help with the campaign, such as delivering leaflets or fundraising. We'd be grateful for any help!

12 Question all assumptions and rumours. The Review body need to justify their decision to the full county council and we should demand that they explain exactly how they came to it.
