    About Swanage First School

Swanage First School is an attractive Victorian buildingSwanage First School is an attractive Victorian building constructed of Purbeck stone and situated on the hillside with fine views overlooking Swanage Bay. We have an award-winning wildlife area, attractive gardens, sports court and adventure playground. A large playing field is a short walk away.

We are the largest of four First schools in the seaside town of Swanage. The children currently leave us at nine years to attend Swanage Middle School. We work closely with all our schools in the Purbeck Pyramid and with Cygnets Playgroup located within the school grounds. Before starting school, children will come into our Reception Classes to become familiar with their surroundings and teachers.

We believe that it is very important for parents and children to feel happy, secure and well informed at the start of their schooling.

In July 2007 Ofsted, the Government body that inspects schools, rated us as outstanding in every area.
